COUNSELORS AND DIRECTORS WORKSHOP
The MCEF Counselors’ Workshop is designed for K-12 Counselors to explore hands-on building activities with other Counselors and over the course of the day Counselors will build a small structure from start to finish. Participants will explore building design, architectural plan reading, measuring, sawing, hammering, framing wall systems, framing roofing systems, and much more, all under the direction of professional contractors. Skills observed and experienced at the MCEF Counselors’ Workshop are taught in Mississippi high school and community college career and technical (CTE) programs.
The Workshop experience will lead to Counselor’s increased knowledge about CTE programs and increase student enrollment in high school CTE programs.
The MCEF Counselors’ Workshop is sponsored by the Mississippi Construction and Education Foundation (MCEF) who is partnering with the Mississippi Department of Education and industry partners.

WHO: The MCEF Counselor’s Workshop is being offered to any Counselor in the K-12 system across the state and is being held in conjunction with the MCEF/SkillsUSA State Championship and P2C Expo.
WHAT: The MCEF Counselor’s Workshop is designed for K-12 Counselors to explore hands-on building activities with other Counselors under the direction of professional contractors.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 15, 2020 TIME: 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
CREDIT: CEU’s Offered Participants attending the entire workshop may receive 0.65 CEU’s. No partial credit will be given. The meeting will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.
REGISTRATION FEE: Free. Continental Breakfast and a Box Lunch will be provided to registered participants free of charge.
DRESS: Work Clothes and Closed-toe Work Shoes (Jeans, Pants, Tee-Shirt, Tennis Shoes, Boots, etc.)
NOTICE: After you register in the GoSignMeUp portal you will be emailed an agenda and a Liability and Release form to be filled out and emailed back to Lane Bell.
